FAQ – 1 – Is Mexico Safe?
Almost all of Mexico is as safe as any retirement or vacation location in the US or Canada. And crime and the ongoing “War on Drugs” are topics that we try to keep our readers informed about.
In many cases, they are safer. Large cities everywhere have higher crime than small towns and suburban areas.
The largest cities that people talk about for re-location -Mexico City and Guadalajara, offer homes in far safer neighborhoods than in cities of comparable size to the north.
Common sense is, of course, the most important factor to keeping anyone safe, but hundreds of thousands of northerners have happily moved to Mexico and they think no more about crime than they would in their hometowns in the US or in Canada.
