This “big enough” city is modern, but it also knows how to preserve its historic value. Cuernavaca has plenty to offer in terms of customs, pyramids, colonial and 19th century buildings, and all of the natural surrounding areas that we have enjoyed talking about in past posts.
The Salto del San Anton
One place that we haven’t spoken about enough is a waterfall, just about 2 miles from downtown Cuernavaca, located in what used to be the pueblo of San Antonio Analco, now called Barrio San Anton. The natural beauty here, surrounded by vegetation and walking trails is unbelievable. You can walk right behind the falls and through all of the getting to the small spring waters flowing in and around.
This place obviously has its church too – the San Antonio de Padua church built back in the XVI century.
