San Miguel Long Term Rental Home (Updated)
Renting is one option that we hear a lot about – but that a lot of Real Estate people don’t want to take the time to really handle. A long term rental, of course, is a great way to really learn a location and everything it offers. And San Miguel de Allende offers a lot.
And maybe obviously, San Miguel’s is a very competitive and attractive housing, vacationing and retirement market.
This particular home includes 1/2 acre of gardens, a turtle pond and horses on the property. Take your time getting to know the area – and this place will really let you relax. I’ll update here when I post just about the garden areas in a subsequent post.

With lawns, mature trees, flower and vegetable gardens, it is the perfect way to settle in for the long term, or to enjoy a season in some of Mexico’s most perfect landscape. Outdoor tables for dining and relaxing take advantage of the area’s shaded and sunny areas on beautifully kept patios, a trampoline and more than can be described here. If you are driving to San Miguel from any part of Mexico or the US, the home includes safe off-street parking, but a city bus is also only minutes away.
The casa has a private terrace and a roof-top terrace that includes the most incredible views of the San Miguel Resevoir (visible in the photos below). From the great windows and bay windows you’ll have views of the neighbor’s farm animals and the Presa, or resevoir. You can even see the presa from the bedroom. The home includes plenty of light and sun and interiors are all beneath boveda and vega ceilings and a skylight. Finishings are all in wood and masonry and the home is beautiful kept and never before rented.
With all new appliances, it is partially furnished. A bath-tub, water pump and on-demand hot water mean it is virtually trouble free. A washer and dryer is available for use on the property, and Dish TV and Internet are also available. Electricity and gas are not included in the rental price.
Drive times are 5 minutes to the Mega-commercial super market, 20 minutes to the center of San Miguel de Allende and about 13 minutes to the La Luciernaga Shopping Mall.
Priced for long-term, the House is available for US$400 monthly or 5000 pesos/monthly, though short-term rentals will be considered.
